*The USGS Earthquake Science Center (Menlo Park, Pasadena, and Seattle
Offices) are hiring to support the mission of the Earthquake Early Warning
Project.*



The USGS is seeking motivated candidates for the Earthquake Early Warning
(EEW) Regional Program Manager position. These positions are being offered
in Menlo Park, Pasadena, and Seattle, and involve the management and
operation of the ShakeAlert system (shakealert.org) in cooperation with
university partners at each of the regional seismic networks.



These positions are part of a USGS-university team that is building,
operating and maintaining ShakeAlert. The Regional Project Manager has
broad responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the EEW regional
buildout as well as the development and operation of the ShakeAlert system.
They will manage, contribute to and participate in regional EEW operations,
including overseeing the buildout and the process of incorporating stations
into ShakeAlert, the operation of the production system, and the review of
its performance. They will interact with participants from other
organizations and coordinate the Project’s activities and contributions
with them.

Openings for these full-time, permanent positions are being advertised as
either a Physical Scientist (1301), Geophysicist (1313) or Geodesist (1373)
at either the GS-12 or GS-13 grade. Positions are available in the Menlo
Park, Pasadena, and Seattle offices of the Earthquake Science Center. US
