Duties and Responsibilities:

- Be responsible for the management of the national strong motion network
- Search and define sites and instrumentation for new accelerographic stations
- Be at the head of the development of activities in strong motion studies.

Qualifications:

- Civil Engineer with Ph.D in Seismic Engineering, Geophysics, or similar.

Required skills and experience:

- Ability on the treatment, processing and analysis of strong motion records.
- Proficiency on site effect evaluation focused on seismic microzonation for cities.
- Experience on the use of geophysical methods for the evaluation of site effects (e.g. the characterization of basins using ambient noise and/or microtremors techniques)
- Experience on the evaluation of seismic hazard is desirable (i.e. strong motion evaluation)
- Excellent computational skills. Knowledge of programming languages like: Fortran, Matlab and Python
- Professionalism: Group leadership skills, group work and excellent communication.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential
