Dear coleagues,

With only two days left for early abstract submission deadline (26 July), we would like to bring your attention to the following AGU session:

Session Title: S021: Seismic Source Parameter Studies: Inversion and Uncertainty

A variety of high–quality seismic and geodetic data in conjunction with recent advances in computational methods and uncertainty analysis enable improved understanding and interpretation of seismic source processes. Fault orientation is important for stress field investigations, while other seismic source components can indicate geometrical or structural complexities in the fault zone, crack opening and closing, fluid movement or mineral phase changes. Accounting for uncertainty plays a critical role in accurate characterization of seismic sources and interpretation. We invite contributions on observational, analytical and computational work on the source processes with a special interest in complete waveform inversion accounting for heterogeneous Earth structure and uncertainty analysis. Of particular interest are studies of seismic moment tensor and accompanying uncertainty in volcanic or geothermal environments, mines, explosions and deep subduction zones.
