Is it possible to get the data for the West coast and offshore for the past 6 months to a year?

I appreciate your help.

Thank you.

    Hi Wendee,

The best way to retrieve the last 6 months of onshore/offshore data for the west coast of the United States is to make a SesmiQuery BREQ_FAST request. This method is preferred over using the web services because of the large size of this request.

You can make a BREQ_FAST request by filling out the form at http://ds.iris.edu/SeismiQuery/breq_fast.phtml. The manual for BREQ_FAST may be found at https://ds.iris.edu/ds/nodes/dmc/manuals/breq_fast/.

For your particular request, you will have to apply a geographic constraint using the latitude/longitude map widget on the SesimiQuery BREQ_FAST form, as well as, a start-time & end-time constraint. I also suggest selecting DMC Archived Waveforms for the “query over” option, as this looks for available data by scanning the waveform archive rather than querying station metadata.

Once you submit the SeismiQuery BREQ_FAST request form, you will presented with another screen where you can review the constructed request, as well as, select an output data format. It is a good idea to spend some time reviewing your request, as there may be certain data that you are uninterested in, such as the synthetic network (SY). If there are any data that you don’t want from you request, you should resubmit the http://ds.iris.edu/SeismiQuery/breq_fast.phtml form with the unwanted data removed.

Once your request is complete you will receive an email containing a link to our FTP site where you can download the data from. You can also view the status of your request on the following page http://ds.iris.edu/ds/nodes/dmc/data/request-status/.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Nick
