Postdoctoral Researcher in Seismic Imaging, Baylor University

The Department of Geosciences at Baylor University is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research fellowship in reflection imaging using microseismicity as sources. The project will be largely based in the laboratory with a few short field tests in which data will be acquired and processed automatically by an array of sensors and distributed processors. The ideal candidate would have experience running industry reflection processing packages in high-performance computing environments, strong writing skills, and the ability to program in Python and MATLAB, as well as a strong background in wave propagation. Some experience in earthquake location and/or focal mechanism determination would be helpful but is not necessary.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, contact information for three references, a writing sample, and a C.V. to Prof. Jay Pulliam (jay_pulliam<at>baylor.edu<jay_pulliam<at>baylor.edu>) by March 1, 2018. The position is for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension, beginning June 1, 2018.
