I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and I used to have SAC running properly, but now (and I'm not sure why or how it happened) whenever I quit out of SAC (even without doing anything) I get the following errors:

Could anyone tell me how to fix this. I think SAC is running properly, but I'm not sure I trust the output. Plus, all this junk on the screen is very annoying.
Thanks for your help,
Amanda L.

    Amanda,

Before running SAC, try setting the variable
MALLOC_CHECK_ to 0 (With the extra "_" at the end)

    in bash/sh so
    % export MALLOC_CHECK_=0

    in csh/tcsh
    %setenv MALLOC_CHECK_ 0

or you can try running sac like
    env MALLOC_CHECK_=0 sac

This should disable the messages you are seeing.

Does SAC always produce this error when exiting or only sometimes ?

    Look for MALLOC_CHECK_
