Dear All,

I need a computer code (fortran, matlab etc.) to convert the ascii time series to SAC format. I would appreciate it if you help me about this problem.

    Hi Tan,

You can create a SAC macro to convert your ASCII data by using the
    "convert" command.

    Bye,

Hi, some time ago I wrote a c program that takes a column of ascii data
and produces a binary sac file. You provide additional info like start
time, sampling rate, etc as options from the command line.
    You can download it from
    ftp://ftp.rm.ingv.it/pub/aladino.govoni/sac/2sac.tar.gz
I included the linux binary, but it should compile on any platform (hope
so). There's not much documentation, if you need help, just ask me.

    cheers,
    Aladino

      Dear All -

See the documentation for the SAC command READALPHA / READTABLE which
      is designed for this task.

    Dear Onur,

A fortran code called sac2xy can be found on the following webpage:

    http://web.utah.edu/thorne/software.html

It comes with a module called sac_i_o which contains subroutines that can be used to read and write sac binary files.
    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Pierre
