The SCSN is the southern California portion of the California Integrated Seismic Network, and is part of the Advanced National Seismic System. The network is a co-operative project of Caltech and the U.S. Geological Survey, and is one of the founding networks that develops, and contributes to, the operations of the ShakeAlert Earthquake Early Warning system. The SCSN and its operation are evolving towards a cutting edge big data environment as new sensing technologies and data mining methods emerge.

Candidates should have an excellent research record in observational seismology, and we welcome applicants with experience in traditional seismic network operations as well as expertise in new data collection methods and analysis techniques. Candidates will be evaluated on their research record, management experience, and communication skills.
