We are seeking a postdoctoral candidate to work on Deep Learning detection of elasto-gravity waves in seismograms. The objective will be to test the potential of the approach for earthquake and tsunami early-warning. The successful applicant will have experience in seismology and interest for Deep Learning OR experience in Deep Learning and interest for seismology. He/she will work at Géoazur, a research facility employing 165 people studying earthquake related problems, located on the French Riviera (Nice area). Géoazur is part of Université Côte d’Azur, IRD, CNRS and Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, offering many possibilities for interaction. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Jean-Paul Ampuero (Géoazur), Quentin Bletery (Géoazur) and Bertrand Rouet-Leduc (Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), USA), with the possibility to visit LANL. The gross salary is 3000€ / month (~2400€ after tax). The duration of the contract is 18 months, with possibilities for extension.
