With support from the NSF-funded Polenet-ANET project (http://polenet.org/a-net, polenet.org) we are seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to work on modeling ice sheet - sea level- solid Earth interactions in Antarctica. The project will involve incorporating new seismic and geodetic constraints on 3D Earth structure beneath the Antarctic into a coupled model of glacial isostatic adjustment and Antarctic Ice sheet dynamics to understand the role of the solid Earth on past and future ice sheet evolution and improve glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) corrections to modern satellite records. The candidate will have opportunity to work closely with David Pollard and Andy Nyblade at The Pennsylvania State University and Natalya Gomez at McGill University, as well as interact with the rest of the international, interdisciplinary Polenet team. The position is initially for one year with the possibility for renewal. A start date on or before August 2020 is desirable. The position requires travel between Penn State and McGill University, with significant time spent at both institutions. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required by the date of hire. Candidates should include a letter of interest, a CV, and contact information for three references with the application. Review of applications will begin January 20, 2020. Both The Pennsylvania State University’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and McGill University’s Earth and Planetary Sciences department take an active role in building a talented, inclusive and culturally competent workforce. We understand that our shared future is guided by basic principles of fairness, mutual respect, and commitment to each other. Applicants should share this commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusive excellence, and belonging and of engagement that creates an inclusive environment in their department/workplace. Apply at: https://psu.jobs/job/91997. Inquiries about the position can be sent to Andy Nyblade (aan2<at>psu.edu), Natalya Gomez (natalya.gomez<at>mcgill.ca) and Dave Pollar
