Dear Colleagues,

I’d like to draw your attentions to an ambient noise imaging session of “Multiscale seismic imaging of lithosphere structures using ambient noise tomography” in the 2020 AOGS meeting, which will take place on 28 Jun to 4 Jul 2020 in Sono Belle Vivaldi Park, Hongcheon, Republic of Korea.

The deadline for abstract submission is January 21, 2020. You can find the information about the meeting and the link for abstract submission following the link http://www.asiaoceania.org/aogs2020/public.asp?page=home.html

The details of our session are posted below:

SE20: Multiscale seismic imaging of lithosphere structures using ambient noise tomography:

Since it was proved that empirical Green’s functions between a pair of stations can be extracted from cross-correlation of ambient noise more than fifteen years ago, seismic imaging based on ambient noise has undergone significant advances in many fronts. In recent years, with the developments of methods in retrieving broadband surface waves from ambient noise, ambient noise tomography are capable of imaging earth’s structures from the shallow surface to the deep upper mantle with scales ranging from local/regional to continent /global levels. In this session, we invite presentations on topics in a wide range of ambient noise tomography, including, but not limited to, new ambient noise data acquisition and processing approaches, new seismic ambient noise imaging techniques, and ambient noise full-waveform/adjoint tomography. We welcome submissions on the joint inversion of ambient noise data and earthquake data. Contributions on structure monitoring based ambient noise data and on studies of ambient noise source properties and origins are also welcome.

Session conveners: Yingjie Yang, Yinhe Luo, Kai Wang
