Hello-
I have a bunch of events with picks from an outside program that I would
like to add into SAC event files so that I can use them with a pre-existing
routine. The pre-existing routine looks for picks made with PLOTPK that
also contain phase onset, label, direction, and quality as set by the user
in PPK, i.e. (IPU0) or (EP-4) or (ISU1), etc.
I can add the pick timing information to the header using chnhdr: i.e.
chnhdr a gmt $pick_year $pick_jday $pick_hour $pick_minute $pick_second
$pick_millisecond
However, I cannot figure out how to write the additional phase information
(onset, label, direction, and quality) to the header. Might these be set
using enumerated header values? I'm just not sure how to interact with
those.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend you see the help:
sac> help ppk
some picks are write on KTn header variable.
a part in the help said:
The P pick is stored in header variable A, and the (IPU) in KA. The S pick
is stored in T0 with (ISD1) in KT0.

Kyle Brill2020-03-26 13:27:46Hello -
This worked perfectly.
I do not see the part you mention in my version of the help file for ppk
[LATEST REVISION - May 16, 2006 (version 100.1)], but there is a line under
"HEADER CHANGES" that says "Depending upon user responses any of A, KA, F,
KF, Tn, KTn" which should have pointed me in the right direction. I may be
using an outdated version of SAC.
In any case, thank you very much for your help and quick response.
