Dear all,
Following on from the much-appreciated statement on racism in the geosciences circulated by IRIS last week, I thought the following report might be of interest.
https://www.earth.ox.ac.uk/2020/06/department-of-earth-sciences-releases-report-of-ad-hoc-working-group-on-bame-issues
It was put together by myself and other postgraduate colleagues at the University of Oxford, and focusses specifically on BAME EDI in the geosciences - with significant attention paid to the representation of geophysics therein. There are 42 recommendations - some of these are Oxford-specific, but others are likely to be transferrable to your own departments, or might serve as a useful template. Apologies if this is not relevant to you.
Best wishes,
Ben
