The Idaho Geological Survey (IGS) is looking for two motivated and dynamic individuals to join the team of geologist, GIS analysts, cartographers, and dedicated professionals in the IGS office in Moscow, ID. The Geoscience Manager is a permanent position, and the GIS Analyst is a 1-year appointment contingent upon funding. See description and links below.

Geoscience Manager, Idaho Geological Survey
The Geoscience Manager for the Digital Mapping and GIS Laboratory (DML) of the Idaho Geological Survey (IGS) is a full-time, non-faculty exempt appointment at the University of Idaho's Moscow campus. The successful candidate will manage and oversee all aspects of the DML including the production of map products and publications, web design, IT, and data management across a range of software and platforms. The Geoscience Manager will supervise the DML staff, which includes GIS Analysts and Digital Cartographers, assist staff with GIS and remote sensing applications and modeling software, and advise and assist with the development and integration of new technologies such as drones and other techniques. The incumbent will also oversee Information Technology contractors, maintain and purchase lab software and hardware, and co-manage the IGS website and Windows network domain.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in Geology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, or closely related field; a proven applied geology background; and three years of post-degree applied ArcGIS work experience with geologic and geospatial data. This position is eligible for state of Idaho benefits. Salary is $65,000 annually or higher, depending on experience.

GIS Analyst, Idaho Geological Survey
Based in Moscow, Idaho, the GIS Analyst will support Idaho Geological Survey (IGS) staff in grant-related responsibilities and research including database creation and management, digital cartography, and geologic mapping. This position works closely with the IGS Director, Digital Mapping Lab (DML) Manager, and other mapping lab staff. The position reports to the DML Manager and requires the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS and non-spatial databases.
This position is a one-year, full-time classified appointment funded by the USGS-STATEMAP 2020 grant. Ongoing employment will be contingent upon funding.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, or closely related field and three years of applied GIS work experience. This position is eligible for state of Idaho benefits. Salary is $24.04 - $28.85 per hour, depending on experience.
