Hi All -
ISTI ran a successful online Earthworm (a cross-platform open-source
regional automatic seismic processing software system) course in June.
The online course turned out to be so popular that we added a second
Earthworm Course in August so that we could give people the same
attention that we give during the in-person course by limiting class
size, and also so we could sign people up for whom a later time of day
was better. The 2nd August course still has some seats, so if you're
interested in registering let us know.
This 2nd Earthworm course is going to run August 17-21, 24-27; 1pm to
5pm Eastern daylight time. The content will be the same as for our usual
4 1/2 day course.
Four hour course days allows students to attend to other work the other
half of the day, and to not be sitting with a headset in their ear for 8
hours straight! And it would also mean students on the other side of the
world would only have 4 late night hours.
The course will be taught live by two instructors in an online video
conference format using Zoom. We will share screens to deliver
PowerPoint presentations on one screen and show running and configuring
Earthworm on another screen. If students have trouble, they can share
their screens. Instructors can help and the whole class can watch the
fix. (Breakout rooms are also used for individual help.)

The course provides an expert’s insight into the system. You will learn
tricks and tips from our decades of experience operating and programming
Earthworm. You will learn how to set up regional automatic earthquake
detection with the latest release of Earthworm. This course will be
useful to anyone setting up, managing, tuning, or developing for an
Earthworm system.
Here's a description of the course:

It is suggested to have a computer with two displays to get the most out
of the course
(Note there will likely be scheduled some optional social online
meetings before or after the course so that attendees can get to know
attendees from other organizations and share related or unrelated topics.)
