The Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL) is opening a call for a highly motivated early career researcher in the field of Geodynamic Hazards, willing to work in an exciting research environment.

Position description: Postdoctoral Junior Researcher Position in Geophysics
Position Requirements: PhD in Earth or Marine Sciences (e.g. Geophysics, Geology)

Specific Requirements:
a) Previous experience in fundamental or applied research in the field of Geodynamic Hazard, i.e. in research focused on assessing the hazard resulting from disasters associated with the Earth's internal geodynamics, namely earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and mass movements. Hazard assessment should be grounded in the understanding of fundamental geodynamic processes (physics-based). Considered relevant experience includes: 1) probabilistic assessment or other types of numerical modeling of hazards; 2) development of monitoring techniques, particularly in near-real time, real time or early warning; and 3) other initiatives developed to mitigate the effects of these disasters and to increase the resilience of the population to their impacts.
b) The candidate must also have a demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals (indexed in Scopus or Web of Science), as first author, in the themes mentioned above or in related themes.
