Hello,

I am a PhD student at the University of Cambridge working with Sanne Cottaar (cc'd). We would just like to bring your attention to an anomalous event in the Southern Ocean that we believe may be an error.

While searching through Wilber 3 we have come across an Mb 6.2 event at a source depth of 650km in the Southern Ocean: IRIS: mb6.2 Southern Kerguelen Plateauhttps://ds.iris.edu/ds/nodes/dmc/tools/event/2475386
This seems very unlikely and a quick search through both the ISC Catalogue and Global CMT Catalogue do not yield any results matching to this event.

Is the inclusion of this event in the catalogue an error?

Best wishes,
Stuart
