Hello,
I made a request for data from two stations in Boston, MA, but both were returned as saying 'no data available'.
The IRIS GMAP shows these stations available on the data that I am attempting to pull data from.
Do you know if there is data for these stations in the IRIS database during the below time frame?
Thank you!!
Network: NP
Stations: 2649, 2651
Channels: HN?
Timeframe: 2020-Nov-08 14:10:06 - 2020-Nov-08 14:11:36

Hi Jeremy,
It looks like IRIS doesn't have data for those particular stations.
It's actually kind of difficult to see for these stations (I'm going to look into improving that) but in the MDA tool looking at the NP network (https://ds.iris.edu/mda/NP/) the stations with available data (at least at IRIS) are marked with a green "A":
The stations you're looking at show no available data:
There are a number of possible reasons for data to be unavailable. In this case I think the US Strong Motion Network is an amalgam of many semi-independent subnetworks, so it's fairly heterogeneous in terms of how each station's data is archived. I don't see data for these stations at the NCEDC or SCEDC data centers either, though (although it's a bit hard to verify), in which case you might have to contact the network directly to figure out how to get this data.
Cheers,
Adam
