Thread: Save the Date: GAGE/SAGE 2021 VIRTUAL Science Workshop

Dear UNAVCO & IRIS Community,

In spring 2020 we made the decision to postpone the GAGE/SAGE Science Workshop from August 2020 until August 2021, thinking that would allow us to do the workshop in-person. That projection turned out to be inaccurate. (This meeting is the equivalent of the UNAVCO and IRIS Science Workshops, which used to be held separately. The first joint workshop https://www.iris.edu/hq/workshops/2019/10/earth_in_4d was in Portland, Oregon in October 2019.)

The UNAVCO and IRIS Board of Directors have made the decision to switch the meeting to a virtual format -- Tuesday August 17 - Thursday August 19, 2021

Please mark this on your calendars. We are working hard to make sure the meeting is still able to accomplish the intended goals of fostering community, sharing results, planning for future endeavors, and engaging in professional development. We are incorporating best practices and lessons learned from nearly a year of virtual meetings to ensure a successful virtual event.

Short courses on various geophysics topics would normally be held the Monday before the meeting. We will be moving those short courses to the week before (Aug 9-13) in order to allow for shorter meeting days.

More information on the agenda will be available in the spring and registration will open June 1, 2021.
