The geophysics group at the University of Michigan is seeking applicants
for a post-doctoral research position in seismology to work on Distributed
Acoustic Sensing (DAS). Research topics of interest include urban
seismology, ocean-bottom seismology, volcanology, or environmental
seismology. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in DAS
data collection and being involved in several projects for the coming years.



Candidates with a PhD in geophysics or a related area are welcome to apply.
Strong knowledge of one or several of the following methods will be valued
for this position: array techniques, machine/deep learning, ambient noise
correlations, seismic imaging, waveform modeling. Working with DAS requires
strong coding skills to scale existing and new algorithms to process very
large amounts of seismic data.

2021, will be considered fully. The preferred start date is September 2021,
but flexibility is possible. The initial appointment is for one year, with
an option to extend to a second year. The position includes a competitive
