Hi Everyone,
We are currently recruiting for one MSc position at the University of
Calgary (Alberta, Canada) in Geophysics related to induced seismicity
interactions from saltwater disposal and hydraulic fracturing in British
Columbia (see below). For further information regarding the project
please contact either myself (rebecca.salvage1<at>ucalgary.ca
<rebecca.salvage1<at>ucalgary.ca>) or David Eaton
(eatond<at>ucalgary.ca <eatond<at>ucalgary.ca>). Applications will be
reviewed as they are received until a suitable candidate is found.
With thanks,
Becky

*Induced seismicity due to interaction between saltwater disposal and
hydraulic fracturing*
A MSc student is sought for a 2-year project at the University of
Calgary starting in September 2021. The project is aimed at
understanding possible stress interactions between fluid disposal and
hydraulic fracturing wells. The project will combine geomechanical
modelling with analysis of data from local seismograph arrays in British
Columbia. A BSc in geophysics or related field is required, and some
experience of programming (e.g. Python, Matlab etc.) is preferred.
