Dear Geophysics Community Members

We are getting closer to the virtual GAGE/SAGE 2021 Community Science Workshop https://gage-sage-2021.us2.pathable.com/. The main workshop days will be Tuesday-Thursday August 17-19, 2021, with a few other activities August 16 and 20.
A variety of short courses https://gage-sage-2021.us2.pathable.com/short-courses are being offered the week before (August 9-13).
Short Course Registration Deadline: August 1, 2021
REGISTER HERE https://gage-sage-2021.configio.com/page/unavco -- for both the main workshop and short courses*

Technical short courses include a range of options in both geodesy and seismology.

The two Workplace Climate short courses are particularly valuable for anyone looking to promote a more positive work/school experience for everyone. Although there is an initial registration fee for these, all participants who actually attend a workplace climate course will have their registration fee refunded afterwards.
Improving Workplace Climate: Boost Your Satisfaction and Success in Graduate School - STUDENTS-ONLY (Tuesday August 10, 4:00 - 7:00 pm US Eastern Time)
Improving Workplace Climate: Increasing Inclusionary Behaviors in Your Department - NON-STUDENTS (Wednesday August 11, 4:00 - 6:30 pm US Eastern Time)

In addition to the Plenary, E-lightning Poster, various breakout, and Community sessions, this year’s GAGE/SAGE Workshop will also have two International Panels: Sharing Effective Practices for Infrastructure, Training, and Collaboration. These sessions are designed for scientists and students interested in learning more about recommended practices for international collaborations as well as opportunities available for researchers from countries with fewer science infrastructure resources.
#1 - Emphasis on the Americas (Monday August 16 - 11:00 am-12:30 pm ET; 3:00-4:30 pm UTC)
#2 - Emphasis on Africa & Asia (Friday August 20 - 7:00-8:30 am ET; 11:00 am-12:30 pm UTC)
There is no fee to attend the International Panels, but participants must still register for these free events if they are not already registered for the meeting as a whole.

Registration fees
Main Workshop - $130 regular/$40 student
Short Courses - $35 regular/$20 student
Participants at institutions in low and low-middle income countries may request a fee waiver for the main workshop registration (community<at>unavco.org)

This meeting is the equivalent of the UNAVCO and IRIS Science Workshops, which were previously held separately. The first joint workshop https://www.iris.edu/hq/workshops/2019/10/earth_in_4d was held in Portland, Oregon in October 2019.

Please contact community<at>unavco.org if you have questions
