Feel free to contact ievg-job-ml<at>aist.go.jp to ask questions about these job opportunities.

[1] STAR-E Project
We seek a scholar who will perform research to explore underground faults using hypocenter distribution and focal mechanism solutions and later phases of seismic waves by analyzing seismic waveform data using signal processing and machine learning. The applicant will conduct the research activity under the research project "Exploration of underground faults by seismic wave big data using signal processing and machine learning" of the MEXT STAR-E Project and in cooperation with the Artificial Intelligence Research Center of AIST. Additional research activities that contribute to the promotion of this research may be permitted up to 20% of the work time upon the applicant's request.

The contract will be from April 1, 2022 (or earliest possible) to March 31, 2023, renewable up to March 31, 2026.

The applicant will also participate in seismic observation several times a year. Additional research activities that contribute to the promotion of this research may be permitted up to 20% of the work time upon the applicant's request.

The contract will be from April 1, 2022 (or earliest possible) to March 31, 2023, renewable up to March 31, 2026.
