Thread: DAS Workshop at AGU

Dear RCN members,

The DAS RCN will be holding DAS workshop at the Fall AGU meeting on Sunday December 12 from 8-2 CST. The workshop (SCIWS17)can be found at https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm21/meetingapp.cgi/Program/3170 and you can register for the workshop either when you register for the AGU meeting or anytime afterwards.

The first module (~70 minutes) of the workshop will be devoted to those less familiar (novices) with DAS, then we will move to presentations on recent advances in DAS in all of our Working Group themes, along with industrial presentations focusing on a) downhole deployment, b) surface deployment and c) dark fiber experiments, with a "lessons learned" approach to each of these topics. We will close with a discussion of instrument availability and support within the earth sciences community.

The workshop will be hybrid, so you can join in person or virtually. Cost for the workshop is $150, and the RCN does have travel support funds for early career scientists to help out.
