Hi,
Sorry, oops! I had posted the wrong time span. The response file from
IRIS has the same poles and zeros throughout. Allow me the repost:

From all helps and also to my understanding that the instrument may changeover different times, therefore the poles and zeros should be different
from time to time.
But at least from my requested file, it is pretty much the same through out
2000-2011.

Hi Tien,
at first glance, if you see the start time of the response files are
different, so
i think that are different instruments.
cheers,
Milton

Hi all, encounter a confusing thing about response.
I 've been using broadband data from IRIS on research and recently
I am using the BH* channels of network AZ, and it should be velocitydata. I downloaded sac files from SCEC stp.
I originally request response file in SEED format, then extracted it tobe RESP.AZ.XXX..BHX, the response file.
Recently, because I want to confirm the amplitudes in velocity and alsoin displacement is correct, I went to IRIS SeismiQuery to get the response
file updated until 2011. Surprisingly, the extracted response file from my
SEED format and the response file from SeismiQuery are different.
The RDSEED extracted response file has 2 zeros and 5 poles, but theresponse file from SeismiQuery has 5 zeros 9 poles.
I thought 2 zeros is standard for velocity response, had no idea whatthe 5 zeros are. They are from the same time span for same station.
