Hello DAS Mailing List, Steering Committee Members, and Working Group leads,
The first DAS RCN Business Meeting and Community Forum will be February
10th from 11 am – 12pm Eastern Time. Please register at the following link
(you will receive the Zoom link an hour before the meeting to limit
potential disruptions):
https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYvcOihpzopHNCiZEFJMnR70_LuLDninXdL
The PIs, RCN Steering Committee, and Working Group leads have met monthly
since the start of the RCN in June 2019. We are at the halfway point of the
three-year NSF award and have decided to experiment with holding these
monthly meetings as a combination of RCN Business Meeting followed by a
Community Forum. As in-person events have been postponed, other activities
have filled in such as highly successful virtual events and the webinar
series. These tasks have been worthwhile, but we will also be planning for
in-person events in 2022 and 2023 for which we seek broader input. We also
hope to use the DAS RCN calls for increased cross-working group
communication. Ultimately, this is a chance for all RCN members to
influence where we are going in order to set up the DAS community for
continued success as the RCN wraps up in 2023.
Previous meeting reports are available on the RCN website under "Steering
Committee": https://www.iris.edu/hq/initiatives/das_rcn. The agenda for the
upcoming meeting is currently as follows:
- Welcome (Herb Wang)
- Meeting Structure
- Announcements and Updates (~5 minutes)
- SAGE/GAGE 2022 Special Interest Group meeting proposals (Bob
Woodward)
- Community Forum Discussion
- Presentations on Community Resources/Facilities
- DAS RCN - overview, remaining activities (Herb Wang)
- CTEMPS (Scott Tyler/John Selker)
- IRIS (Bob Woodward)
- NHERI (Dante Fratta)
- Introduction to the Survey and Discussion at March Meeting (Scott
Tyler/Danica Roth)
We will end with an invitation for feedback and/or presentations at the
next meeting. This meeting will be recorded and made available for viewing
if you cannot attend. Please reach out if you have any questions about this
meeting or other RCN activities.
Cheers,
Herb, Bob, Scott, and Kasey
