Dear Colleagues,

Registration is now open for the 2022 SAGE/GAGE Workshop to be held June 14-16th in Pittsburgh, PA. You can check out the meeting agenda, hotel/travel info, and complete your registration by visiting the workshop website: www.iris.edu/workshop

Don’t miss out on the many interesting short courses that will be happening on Monday, June 13th—the day prior to the start of the SAGE/GAGE workshop. There are 2 short courses happening Monday morning (8a-12p ET) and 4 more in the afternoon (1-5p ET). Short courses will touch on GNSS-IR, GAMIT/GLOBK, Data Services Identity Management, and MT at PASSCAL…among other exciting topics! You can find a full listing of short course descriptions on the workshop agenda page, or via this direct link https://www.iris.edu/hq/site/PAGE_static/7391. Funding to support student participation may be available, so if you’re a student on the fence about attending, please get in touch!

If you’d rather get out and explore the region, consider signing up for our field trip that will explore the fascinating history and geology of southwestern Pennsylvania. Led by University of Pittsburgh Professor Tom Anderson, this all-day (Monday, June 13, 9a-5p ET) adventure will feature many highlights, including: explore the geology of Chestnut Ridge, visit a historic iron furnace and quarry, see a natural gas storage well, learn about a French and Indian War battlefield, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a famous Frank Lloyd Wright home. Registration for the field trip is $50/person and includes transportation to/from the workshop hotel. A limited number of spots are available for this field trip—please register via the workshop website by May 18th if you’d like to attend!

This year, we are also pleased to offer caregiver stipends to facilitate participation by members of our community who need to balance caregiving responsibilities. Available for both in-person and virtual attendees, these stipends should be requested by May 18th for timely consideration in advance of the workshop.

Have questions? Feel free to reach out to Beth, Justin, or workshop<at>iris.edu.

Many Thanks,

Justin Sweet, IRIS workshop lead
Beth Pratt-Situala, UNAVCO workshop lead
