Dear Colleagues,

Registration is open for the 2022 SAGE/GAGE Workshop to be held June 14-16th in Pittsburgh, PA. Registration rates increase after 5/18, so make sure to register by this Wednesday. You can check out the meeting agenda, hotel/travel info, and complete your registration by visiting the workshop website: www.iris.edu/workshop

Invited speaker abstracts have now been posted to the meeting agenda, so please be sure to check those out. We’ve also added a few new sessions, including:
1. Wed (6/15) morning session with updates on current community initiatives
2. Thur (6/16) morning panel discussion: Insights for Advisors and Students: Non-academic Career Paths for Geophysicists
3. Thur (6/16) morning session on SAGE/GAGE Governance

There are a number of important workshop deadlines approaching:
By Wednesday, May 18th…
— Poster abstracts must be submitted
— Hotel rooms must be reserved (unless you are a supported student or IRIS/UNAVCO staff)
— Field Trip registration strongly encouraged
— Short Courses registration strongly encouraged
— Caregiver stipend requests strongly encouraged

By Monday, June 6th…
— Proof of vaccination must be provided to Crowdpass
— Posters should be uploaded to virtual meeting site (Pathable)

If you plan on bringing a poster to the SAGE/GAGE workshop, please make sure to register and submit your poster abstract by Wed, May 18th. You will need to register (and receive your confirmation code) before you can submit your abstract via the workshop website www.iris.edu/workshop.

Don’t miss out on our group rate at the Pittsburgh Sheraton at Station Square! Reserve your room before the booking deadline, which is also Wed, May 18th. Current public rates for the hotel are significantly higher than our group rate! Book via the link listed on the Travel tab of the workshop website www.iris.edu/workshop.

* We’ve added additional rooms to our block at the hotel, so there should be availability on all nights during the workshop. If you encounter an error when trying to make your reservation, please email workshop<at>iris.edu.

We also strongly encourage you to register for the field trip or any short courses you’d like to attend by Wed, May 18th. If you intend to request a caregiver stipend, please plan to get those requests in by 5/18 as well. Requests/registrations can be made via the workshop registration form, or you can email workshop<at>iris.edu to sign up.

All workshop participants who will be joining us in Pittsburgh must submit proof of vaccination via our partner Crowdpass. After you register, you will receive an email from Crowdpass with an invitation to log in and upload your documentation. If you’ve registered but haven’t yet gotten an email from Crowdpass, please check your spam folder.

We will be launching our virtual meeting site in the next few weeks using the Pathable platform. All workshop participants (in-person & virtual) will have an account created for them on the virtual meeting site. In addition to bringing a physical poster, all presenters will be asked to upload a digital copy of their poster to the virtual meeting site. The virtual meeting site will allow posters to be viewed and shared with both in-person and virtual workshop participants. If you will be bringing a poster, please try to have that ready for upload to the Pathable site by Monday, June 6th, which is the week prior to the start of the workshop.

Have questions? Feel free to reach out to Beth, Justin, or workshop<at>iris.edu.

Many Thanks,

Justin Sweet, IRIS workshop lead
Beth Pratt-Situala, UNAVCO workshop lead
