Distributed Acoustic Sensing

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) is a potentially transformative technology in the geosciences and engineering. The rapidly increasing interest in DAS arises from its use in continuous arrays that can be kilometers in length while providing spatial resolution of meters and frequency response from millihertz to kilohertz. This mailing list provides a forum for discussion on all topics related to DAS technology including: applications, installation, data acquisition, handling and processing of data, engineering and scientific technical development, and advertisement of upcoming events, workshops, meetings, or other opportunities in the DAS community.

The AGU Workshop on Distributed Acoustic Sensing (SCIWS2) has been opened up to allow up to 150 attendees. You can register for the workshop from the AGU registration page ( https://www.agu.org/Fall-Meeting/Pages/Register-Housing/Registration-Rates). If you have been contacted by the organizers to present in the workshop, you do not need to register for the workshop or the AGU meeting. To help accommodate the demand for DAS training and updates, the DAS RCN will also be offering a monthly DA… [more]

Dear fiber optic community I would like to draw your attention to the extended deadline for submission the 2nd EAGE fiber optic workshop https://eage.eventsair.com/geotech-2021/2nd-distributed-fibre-optic-sensing We are inviting submissions from all aspects of fiber monitoring, not only DAS. We also aim to have a good balance between industry and research presentations! The event is planned to be hybrid (physical & virtual), but we hope that by then it is possible to see many of you in per… [more]
