On the last day of the SAGE-GAGE Annual Workshop in Portland, a joint meeting of the IRIS and UNAVCO Boards unanimously approved the establishment of a Negotiation Committee to explore the terms and conditions of a potential future merger between our two organizations. Fall start of a process to search for a new President for IRIS.
The President of IRIS represents the passion of its member seismologists and has the
opportunity to make a transformational impact on Earth science research and

Dear IRIS Colleagues,
The annual IRIS Membership Meeting will be held on the evening of December 9th, 2019 in San Francisco in conjunction with the Fall AGU meeting. The meeting will be held at the Children’s Museum (221 4th St., across the street from the Moscone Convention Center).
A reception will begin at 6:00 pm with the members meeting stating at 7 pm.

Today IRIS will be hosting a Rapid Response to Geohazards Mini Workshop in Portland, Oregon. We will be live streaming today’s mini workshop for anyone who would like to attend but wasn’t able to make the trip in person.
Barring unforeseen technical difficulties, the live stream will be available for the duration of the mini workshop, which runs from 1-5pm Pacific today.
