Hello, when I submit a request to fdsnws-dataselect @ IRIS, I sometimes get incomplete data back. It turns out that this is the case whenever I include in my request streams that are not available from IRIS. An example request is given in the attachment. The request includes data of four networks: IC, II, IS, and IU. Note that network IS is not archived at IRIS. The reason why I request the data in this brute force manner is that the client software used here does not (yet) allow routin… [more]

Hello Web Service users, The fdsnws-station service has been updated: http://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/station/1/ <http://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/station/1/> A single change is included with this release: * Fixed an issue where requests for metadata may be incomplete. The scenario where this occurs is when multiple networks are selected, and the DMC does not have metadata for one or more of the networks. Results from all networks after, in an alphanumeric sort, the unknown network were not i… [more]

Dear West Coast IRIS, What is happening when a timeseries call returns multiple lines, e.g. http://service.iris.edu/irisws/timeseries/1/query?output=plot&station=SPOLE&channel=BHZ&network=YE&location=--&endtime=2014-07-01T00:00:00&starttime=2014-06-01T00:00:00 ? Are these extras the result of gaps, or something else? The first line appears complete for the duration, but the others appear blank for similar durations. Cheers, East Coast IRIS

Hello Web Services users, Today at 10:30 am PDT (UTC - 7) there will be some maintenance being perormed on the IRIS DMC database. The maintenance period is expected to last ~90 minutes. During this time, most web pages associated with web services (http://service.iris.edu <http://service.iris.edu/>) and IRIS Data Services (http://ds.iris.edu/ds <http://ds.iris.edu/ds>) are expected to be unresponsive. Most users should not notice any problems during this period, however, some clients may no… [more]

Hi Shahar, I know people who have done that, although I haven't done it myself. We don't have a special script like our irisFetch script for the dataselect web service, but I suspect people may just call curl or wget. I'm forwarding your email back to the Web Services list so that other matlab/MUSTANG users can share how they do it. cheers, Mary On Oct 6, 2015, at 10:33 AM, Shahar Barak <shaharb@stanford.edu> wrote: > Hi Mary, > > Thank you. Hi, I tried using mustang, but it doesn't work. I tried with various networks/station combinations, and also tried to change other parameters such as channel, etc. I always get a "400 No targets were found after filtering" For example" http://service.iris.edu/mustang/metrics/1/query?metric=orientation_check&net=XD&sta=A01&loc=--&cha=BH*&output=html&timewindow=2011-09-30T21:32:19,2011-10-05T21:32:19
