Hello webservice users,
The DMC is pleased to announce the beta release of our ws-virtualnetwork service. This service returns information for stations belonging to virtual networks, the station details may be returned in XML, comma-separated values (CSV), or MS-Excel (XLS) format based on the value of the output parameter.
Virtual networks represent groups of stations and/or seismic networks organized under umbrella organizations or initiatives, rather than traditional seismic networks. These virtual network definitions are available via other interfaces at the DMC, this service is intended to make the same information available programmatically.
As with most of our other web services, ws-virtualnetwork accepts simple HTTP GET query parameters. Stations may be selected based on virtual network code, and a time period of interest.
Unless major issues are discovered we expect the beta test period to last approximately two weeks. Suggestions and feedback are welcome.
