Dear Colleagues:
SSA is now accepting applications for the SSA GEO-CVD Student Travel
Grant to send two U.S. graduate students to Washington, D.C. to attend
the seventh annual Geosciences Congressional Visits Day, September
16-17, 2014. This is a great opportunity for any U.S. graduate student
interested in the intersection of geoscience and public policy.
Participants will spend two-days learning: how Congress works, how to
conduct congressional visits, about relevant legislation, about relevant
federal agencies and programs, and will also visit with members of
Congress and/or congressional staff on Capitol Hill. The visits focus
on the importance of geoscience research and development and geoscience
education.
Full grant description and application link are available on the
Students page (http://www.seismosoc.org/students.php#travel) of the SSA
website (http://www.seismosoc.org)
*Deadline to submit applications is 15 July 2014.
If you know of a U.S. graduate student who may be interested in this
geoscience/public policy opportunity -- please forward this announcement!
Thank you!
