A research position in seismology is anticipated to be available in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, beginning in summer or fall 2017. The position is a full-time 1-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation, as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate. The successful applicant will participate in two or more projects involving seismic tomography and ambient noise. The expected starting salary is in the range $50,000 to $54,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is most appropriate for candidates not more than 2 years past the Ph.D. Completion of all Ph.D. requirements is necessary at the time of appointment.

The starting date for the position is somewhat flexible, but preferably between August 1 and November 1, 2017. Applicants should submit a resume, statement of research interests and experience, and names of three references via email to
