NSF is currently seeking applicants for the Directors of the Earth Science and Ocean Science Divisions. These are very influential positions that are extremely important to the future of our community. The Division Director oversees Division activities, builds partnerships with other agencies and organizations, assesses trends in geoscience research and education, and helps develop research opportunities for the community.

Please consider applying!! Closing date for applications is 1/31/2018. I served as EAR Division Director from 2008-2012 and would be happy to answer any questions you might have about this position.

NSF Announcement
Carol Frost, Division Director of Earth Sciences (EAR), Rick Murray, Division Director of Ocean Sciences (OCE), and Paul Shepson, Division Director of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences (AGS), are "IPA rotators," completing their appointments at NSF in calendar year 2018. We are now encouraging interested parties to apply to be their successors.

Accordingly, all three positions are currently advertised. One may apply for a permanent position, or for an IPA rotator or other temporary classification.
