The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University is seeking a highly-motivated PhD student in seismology. Tuition, generous stipend, and other fees are fully funded. Possible research topics include, but are not limited to, machine learning for earthquake monitoring, onshore and offshore seismicity monitoring using land seismic data and OBS data, etc. Potential start dates: January, May, September of 2021. During the COVID-19, remote enrolment is possible.

Requirements:
– Background in math, physics, and geophysics
– Experience in computer programming (e.g., C and Python)
– Knowledge of signal processing and seismic data analysis
