Dear all,

I would like to share this PhD opportunity in deep Earth seismology with you, which is conditionally funded under the ARIES Doctoral Training Programme and open to international applicants this year:
Imaging the Multi-scale Landscape of Earth’s Core-mantle Boundary | Aries
Project Description Supervisors. Dr Paula Koelemeijer (Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London) contact me Professor David Waltham (Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London). Dr Sophie Lambrotte (School and Observatory for Earth Sciences, University of Strasbourg)

The project focuses on constraining the topography on the Earth’s core, which provides insights into dynamic processes in both the mantle and core. While the student will join the DEEPSCAPE group at Royal Holloway, based at our green campus outside London, some travel to collaborators in Strasbourg will also be part of the project.

Please share this with potential students interested in deep Earth seismology in your departments and encourage them to email me for more details. This year, international students (non-EU and EU) can apply to the ARIES DTP, with the application deadline the 12th January 2021.

More details on the application procedure can be found here:

Best wishes,

P.S. apologies for multiple postings.
