The USGS Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center (GGGSC) in Denver is looking to hire multiple geophysicists to join a vibrant team working on a variety of resource (minerals, groundwater), hazards (volcanic, seismic) and geotechnical studies. Our broad-based team of research and operational staff includes expertise in electromagnetic, potential-field, remote sensing, electrical, and seismic geophysics. GGGSC is a leader in the field of airborne geophysics and is heavily involved in the decade-long Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (https://www.usgs.gov/special-topics/earth-mri).

We seek to hire 4-year term positions involving a mix of field data acquisition, data processing, technical writing, and preparing data for public releases. The work also involves considerable interfacing with staff geologists, geochemists, and economic geologists. Positions are available at a range of GS-grade levels depending upon education, skills and qualifications (https://www.federalpay.org/gs/locality/denver). One announcement is open at the GS-7, GS-9, or GS-11 pay scales and a second is open at the GS-11 and GS-12 pay scales. The announcements will be open from Jan 10-21 on USAJobs and can be found at https://www.usajobs.gov/job/630209700 and https://www.usajobs.gov/job/629971700.
