Drs. Miao Zhang and Mladen Nedimović from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University are inviting applications from highly motivated individuals to fill one PhD position in Seismology. Tuition, generous stipend, and other fees are fully covered. Possible research topics include seismic source characterization and subsurface imaging of plate boundaries and intraplate regions using marine and/or land data. Possible data sets include a network of broadband OBS in Baffin Bay, Arctic, and the Queen Charlotte Transform Fault offshore western Canada. Preferred start date is September 2022.

Requirements:
- Completed MSc (preferred) or BSc (high GPA and research experience) in Geophysics, Geosciences, Physics or related field
- Background in math, physics, and geophysics
- Experience in computer programming (e.g., Python and C)
- Knowledge of signal processing and seismic data analysis
- iBT >= 92 or IELTS >=7.0
- GPA > 3.5 out of 4.3
