The Earth and Environmental Science Department at New Mexico Tech has an open faculty search at the Associate/Full Professor level for a new Department Chair to come in with tenure. The area of specialization is open.
Our department is young (11 of the 16 current faculty are pre-tenure), broad, and high-energy. NMT is located in Socorro, NM, a small community on the Rio Grande at the edge of the Chihuahuan Desert, with opportunities for climbing, hiking, biking, and camping (not to mention amazing field work) in truly secluded wildlands right from the edge of town. Meanwhile, the amenities and airport of Albuquerque are an easy 1-hour drive up the interstate.
