The Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington
has an opening for a Research Assistant Professor in Seismogeodesy. We seek
someone engaged in research on the use of geodetic methods to address
transient and hazardous geophysical processes such as earthquakes, volcanic
eruptions, and landslides. We are particularly interested in candidates
whose research involves high-rate and real-time geodetic measurements to
tackle research in earthquake early warning (EEW) and more generally in
subduction zone science. Research will include a combination of both
self-directed inquiry and work supporting the mission of the Pacific
Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN). The candidate chosen for this position
will be expected to secure external grant funding for their research. The
appointment is not tenure eligible.
