How do I search for data on a particular earthquake?

I am looking for data on an earthquake that took place in China last year. How do I search the data archive?

Answer

There are a few options available:

Wilber3 is probably the easiest way to find data for a particular earthquake.

Or, use SeismiQuery to search the data holdings at the IRIS DMC as well as search for events. Go to SeismiQuery

You can also use the IRIS Web Services Timeseries service. You can use the web-based URL builder to retrieve data, provided you know, at a minimum, the time, latitude and longitude of the event.
