Description
In February 1985, the USGS conducted a seismic-refraction survey in the vicinity of Yucca Mountain, Southwestern Nevada to better define the P-wave velocity structure of the upper crust in this area. This experiment is a continuation of seismic investigations at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) by the USGS on behalf of the Nevada Nuclear Waste Storage Investigations Project (NNWSI) to assess the feasibility of a proposed nuclear waste disposal site at Yucca Mountain.
