Combined marine and land controlled-source seismic data acquisition was carried out in the Faroe Islands in July 2007, for which 20 Güralp 6TDs were supplied by SEIS-UK. These seismometers recorded visible refraction first arrivals to offsets of 7.5-10 km. Observed P-wave velocities of 4.4-5.4 km/s lie within the expected range for flood basalts, as do calculated VP/VS ratios of 1.83-1.92.
