The IRIS Seismographs in Schools program is now in a position to
repair/replace equipment for the AS-1 instrument and we are excited to
check in with everyone and fix stations that we have been previously
unable to help!

We would like to check in with everyone with our quick annual (four

EARTHQUAKES IN THE NEWS

Teachable Moments http://www.iris.edu/hq/retm

Teachable Moment educational summaries are available within ~12 hours of
a major earthquake. Each Teachable Moment presentation contains
interpreted USGS regional tectonic maps and summaries, computer
animations, seismograms, AP photos, and other event-specific
information. Modify the powerpoint presentations to meet the needs of
your students.

Check out the recent M 7.4 earthquake in Guatemala.
