All,

If you are interested in working with an outstanding undergraduate student this summer, please keep IRIS's Undergraduate Internship Program in mind. This program, supported by the NSF, has been highly successful at encouraging and supporting students in the geoscience career pipeline.

Additionally, it has been extremely successful at meeting the expectations of the IRIS research community.
- 99% of mentors strongly agreed or agreed that that they had been provided a well-qualified intern
- 94% of mentors strongly agreed or agreed that their intern’s work contributed in a meaningful way to the overall success of their research project.

A number of early career faculty have found it to be a useful way to work closely with a potential grad student, and get plugged into a broader pool of graduate student candidates.

Read more about the program and apply, by February 15th, 2013, at:

Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.

Best Wishes,
Michael
