University Assistant (post doc) at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics is vacant.

The Section of Geophysics is looking to fill a position of university assistent/postdoc in the field of seismology. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative colleague. The candidate is expected to hold classes to an extent specified by the regulations of the Kollektivvertrag. Knowledge of the German language is an advantage.

This is a temporary employment as substitute (15.01.2015 - 07.05.2015); option to prolongation until May 2016.

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Occupation group in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc)
On top of this relevant chargeable work experience determines the assessment to a particular salary grade.

Areas of work:
We require an active participation in the research program in the field of seismology, in particular the FWF-Projekt AlpArray Austria. Further important topics in our research context are regional geodynamics, seismic risk, oil/gas-exploration, and nuclear verification. We assume an interest in performing the seismological field experiment, and in data analysis and interpretation.

Profile:
Doctoral degree in geophysics, or if in another field, practical experience in seismology.

Advanced computer capabilities are a plus. Ability to work in a group is requirement.
