Thread: station epoch change

Data for a temporary deployment of instrumentation were submitted to IRIS for archiving. The deployment was removed. Approximately one year later a permanent station with different sensors was installed at the same location and the original station ID was retained for archive purposes. Should removal of the temporary deployment result in a termination of station epoch with a new station epoch started for the permanent installation? It is rare for a station to have multiple station epochs but it is not impossible. Aside from location code changes, is this an example where multiple station epochs would be appropriate?
