JEvalResp and JPlotResp Now Use IRIS Web Services
Continuing the trend of moving IRIS tools to web services support, Instrumental Software Technologies has implemented a migration path for their JEvalResp and JPlotResp tools to be configurable for both DHI access to station metadata as well as web service access for this same information.
JEvalResp is a Java version of the evalresp program and, like the original, it is designed to evaluate the response information from ASCII “RESP” files generated by IRIS DMC’s rdseed utility.
JPlotResp is a standalone Java GUI application for processing and plotting the response information provided by embedded JEvalResp libraries.
Currently, IRIS DMC and NCEDC are both centers supported by JEvalResp and JPlotResp and can be configured to access the web services of both centers. All of the same functionality you have come to appreciate from these packages remains the same. And will function seamlessly whether you are still using DHI or using the more modern web service offerings.
