The Data Management Center (DMC) operated by IRIS as part of the National Science Foundation’s Seismological Facility for the Advancement of Geoscience has moved from its old offices on “the Ave” in the Seattle University District to Seattle’s Northgate District. A new home for the DMC was needed because the building that housed our old offices was put up for sale. One was found several kilometers away and construction to transform the space into the DMC was completed over the Summer.
The new DMC location opened for business on 3 September 2019 at the following address:
9706 4th Avenue NE
Seattle, WA 98115
The DMC was at its previous location for nearly 28 years and it will be missed by all who populated its warren of halls and offices. The new DMC location is within easy walking distance of public transportation, hotels, restaurants and (naturally) coffee shops. In 2021 a new Northgate station will open on the Link light rail line that will provide easy access to the DMC from SeaTac airport.
We look forward to your coming to see us for work, or just to see the new office.
